Friday of the Twentieth Week in Ordinary Time (YEAR 2013)

Meditation on Today's Scripture:
Faith in God and hope in his promises strengthens us in the love of God. They are essential for a good association with God, for being united with him. The more we know of God the more we love him and the more we love him the better we believe and hope in his promises. The Lord Jesus, through the gift of the Holy Spirit, gives us a new freedom to love as he loves. Do we allow anything to keep you from the love of God and the joy of serving others with a liberal heart? Paul the Apostle says: hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which has been given to us. Do we know the love which conquers all?
Word of the Day...
Psalm 94:18-19 When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.
Prayer ...
Heavenly Father, who is everywhere yet always near, please hear our heart. We are overwhelmed at your presence near us and within us. The comfort you bring when we are under siege, the strength you offer when we are weak, the courage you give when we are under attack, and the hope you instill when all seems hopeless these gifts of your presence are precious to us. Without your presence we would not know where to go or why we are here. Thank you for knowing us. We look forward to knowing you one day as you know us today. In Infant Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
