Saturday of the Fourth Week of Easter - (2013)

Luke 19:10: The Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.
Prayer ...
Heavenly Father, while we know you hate sin and the chaos it creates in our lives, we are so thankful that when you came to earth you were not our judge but our Savior, you were our friend. We promise to live today more aware of your love for the lost because we know what it means to be found. Through Infant Jesus, we pray. Amen.

7If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him." 8 Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied." 9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, `Show us the Father'? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; or else believe me for the sake of the works themselves. 12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son; 14 if you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”
Meditation on Today's Scripture:
Jesus makes it possible for each of us to individually know God as our heavenly Father. To see Jesus is to witness what God is like. In Jesus we see the ideal love of God - a God who cares powerfully and who yearns over men and women, loving them to the point of laying down his life for them upon the Cross. Jesus is the revelation of God - a God who loves us absolutely, unselfishly and perfectly - without neglecting or forgetting us even for a brief moment. If we put our faith in Jesus and believe in him, Jesus promises that God the Father will hear our prayers when we pray in his name. That is why Jesus taught his followers to pray with self-assurance, Our Father who art in heaven … give us this day our daily bread. Do we pray to our Father in heaven with joy and confidence in his personal love and care for us? Loving Infant Jesus, you fill us with the joy of your saving presence and you give us the hope of eternal life with God our Father in Heaven. Show us the Father that we may know and glorify him always.
