Monday Fifth Week of Easter

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Heavenly Father, thank you for being there, always. Give us a deeper appreciation and a more profound consciousness of your presence today. May our life reflect the joy you have given us by saving us by grace. And may our heart always find its home in you. Through the name of Jesus our Savior and friend we pray. Amen.

Short reflection on Today's Gospel: (John 14:21-26)
Jesus prepares his disciples for his coming departure to his Father by exhorting them to prove their love for him through their faithfulness and obedience to his word. He promises them the abiding instruction and comfort of the Holy Spirit. God’s love for each of us is as real and touchable as the love of a mother for her child and the love of a lover who gives all for his much-loved. God made us for love – to know him in person and to grow in the knowledge of his great love for us. How can we each one of us know and be certain of the love of God? The Holy Spirit helps us to grow in the knowledge of God and his great love. The Spirit enables us to understand the love of God and to be assured of the Lord’s enduring presence with us. The Holy Spirit also opens our ears to hear and appreciate the word of God. Do we listen attentively to God's word and believe it? Ask the Holy Spirit to inflame our heart with the love of God and his word.
