Friday Sixth Week of Easter

Romans 11:33: God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Prayer …
Heavenly Father, you are so gracious. Thank you Lord. Words cannot express our joy at hearing such a simple and profound statement describing your virtues. We are so glad we are your child. Through our Saviour Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.

Short Reflection on Today's Gospel (John 16:20-23)
The cross for Jesus was not defeating but conquest – conquest over sin, over the forces of evil in the world, and over the devil – the opponent of God and humankind. Through death on the cross Jesus won for us new life and liberty over the power of sin, despair, and death. The Easter triumph of Jesus teaches us courage in the face of suffering and death. In the resurrection of Christ our fears are laid to rest. His resurrection is total, final victory, and for us peace and joy at the end. We will have problems in the present reality. Through the eyes of faith, we know the final result – complete victory over sin, suffering, and death in Jesus Christ. That is why we can pray self-assuredly now, knowing that the Father will give us all we require to live as his children and as disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ. Do we know the Easter joy of Christ's triumph over sin and death?
