Thursday-Third Week of Easter

Thursday of the Third Week of Easter - Infant Jesus Church

Hebrews 7:25: Jesus is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.
Infant Jesus, my Lord, how we love you. You sacrificed heaven for us. You gave up dignity to redeem us. You destroyed death to assure us. But today, we are most thankful and most aware that every prayer we offer and every step we take you are in the Father's presence to bless us. Thank you Jesus, We praise you. Amen.

Short reflection on Today's Gospel: (John 6:44-51)
Jesus tenders us the abundant mystical life of heaven itself – but we can miss it or even refuse it. To refuse Jesus is to refuse eternal life, eternal life with the Heavenly Father. To believe Jesus as the bread of heaven is not only life and holy nourishment for this world but glory in the world to come. When we approach the Table of the Lord, what do we expect to receive? Healing, pardon, console, and rest for our soul? The Lord has much more for each one of us, more than we can ask or visualize. The principal fruit of receiving the Eucharist or Lord's Supper is a cherished union with Christ. As bodily sustenance restores lost strength, so the Eucharist strengthens us in gifts and enables us to break with disordered attachments to individuals and to be more firmly rooted in the love of Christ. Do we hunger for the "bread of life"?
