Fifth Sunday of Lent

Friday of the Fourth Week of Lent - Infant Jesus Church

Galatians 3:28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Forgive us, O God, when we have let prejudice and doubt keep us from fully enjoying friendship with those whom you have claimed as your children. We pray that our life will be an example of redemption and unity as we seek to love your children as you do. In the name of Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.

Short reflection on Today's Gospel: (John 12:20-33)
"Die" to oneself? It surely means that what is contrary to God's will must be "crucified" or "put to death". God gives us grace to say "yes" to his will and to reject whatever is opposing to his affectionate plan for our lives. Jesus also promises that we will bear much "fruit" for him, if we select to deny ourselves for his sake. Jesus used powerful language to describe the kind of self-denial he had in mind for his disciples. What did he mean when he said that one must hate himself? The expression to hate amazing often meant to prefer less. Jesus says that nothing should obstruct our preferring him and the will of our Father in heaven.
