Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Luke 21:12-19)
God may call a few of us to be martyrs for our faith. But for the majority of us, our call is to be 'dry' martyrs who bear witness to the joy and power of the gospel in the middle of daily confronts contradictions, temptations and hardships which come our way as we follow the Lord Jesus. What will draw to others to the truth and power of the gospel is when they see Christians loving their opponents being joyful in misery, patient in adversity, forgiving injuries, and showing comfort and sympathy to the hopeless and the helpless. Jesus tells us that we do not require fearing our adversaries. God will give us sufficient grace, power, and wisdom to face any trial and to answer any confront to our faith. Are you ready to lay down your life for Christ and to abide witness to the joy and liberty of the gospel?
