Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Matthew 13:44-52 or 13:44-46)
Some of Jesus' parables tell us precisely today’s Gospel, how much his wisdom is worth and what it costs, what it costs us. He tells of a merchant looking for excellent pearls. The meaning of the pearl might have been clear even to Jesus' disciples, who frequently got things wrong. Job had said that the cost of wisdom was ahead of pearls. Today’s Gospel says the parable is about the discovery of the most valuable wisdom of all, the wisdom of Jesus that guides us to God. When we know ourselves and our God, when we know our talents and our restrictions, we recognize God's love for us because we are individuals. When a person understands what God's position in this world is for each one of us, we have found the pearl of great price. We know how to react to God's call with our very being, our extremely personhood. When we come to a profound understanding of what God wants from us as individual people with sole personalities, then we have no choice but to sell everything we have and go and buy the field, for we have found a priceless wealth. Nothing can be more valuable than living our God's exclusive call to each one of us. But there will come a time of division, at the end of the ages, when the angels will send the good and the bad to their own destinations. Our duty is to collect in all who will come. God, in the end, will provide the good and the bad the reward what we deserve. He offers the wealth of his kingdom to everyone who believe in him. Do we desire for God and his kingdom?

Many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see and hear what you hear...
