Heavenly Father, while we know you hate sin and the chaos it creates in our lives, we are so thankful that when you came to earth you were not our judge but our Savior, you were our friend. We assure to live today more aware of your love for the lost because we know what it means to be found. Through Infant Jesus our Lord, we pray. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Matthew 6:7-15)
Jesus cautions his disciples against formalism, making prayer something mechanical and devoid of significance, with little thought for God. When Jesus trained his disciples to pray he provided them the disciple’s prayer, what we call the Our Father or Lord’s Prayer. God is kind and merciful towards us and he expects us to treat our fellow citizen the same. Do you treat others as they merit, or do you treat them as the Lord would treat you with his elegance and favor and compassion? Jesus’ prayer includes an order that we must ask God to pardon us in share as we forgive those who have wronged us. Ask the Lord to free your heart of any anger, resentment, dislike, selfishness, indifference, or chilliness towards others. Let the Holy Spirit fill you with the fire of his merciful love and compassion and with the river of his spilling over love and kindness.
