He who eats this bread will live forever

2 Chro 7:14: If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Heavenly Father, your actions are awesome, your faithfulness is overwhelming, and your compassion and grace are such blessings. Yet we come to you knowing that you hear us, despite the unbelievable distance between you and us, between your worth and holiness and our lack. We confess that we, and our culture and country around us, have made a mess of what you so wonderfully blessed us with. We come humbling asking that you reassert yourself in our nation at this time in clearly familiar ways. We ask this in faith through Infant Jesus' name. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (John 6:51-58)
This Feast is a medieval festivity instituted at a time when the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist was not understood as being as intimately tied to the Holy Eucharist as it is today. However, it is not mismatched with our new liturgical understanding so long as we realize that in result it is an addition of the Eucharist banquet. Jesus chose the time of the Jewish Feast of Passover to complete what he had proclaim at Capernaum - charitable his disciples his body and his blood as the true bread of heaven. Jesus’ passing over to his Father by his death and resurrection – the new Passover – is predicted in the Last Supper and renowned in the Eucharist or Lord's Supper, which completed the Jewish Passover and foresee the final Passover of the church in the magnificence of God’s kingdom. When the Lord Jesus commands his follower to eat his flesh and drink his blood, Jesus invites us to take his life into the very center of our personality. That life which Jesus offers is the very life of God himself. Do we hunger for this bread of life?
