Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid

Rom 5:6-7: At just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (John 14:15-21)
Jesus assured to give all who follows him the best of gifts, the Holy Spirit as their Guide and Helper. How does the Holy Spirit help us? Counselor is a lawful term for one who defends someone against an opponent and who directs that person during the tribulation of trial. The Holy Spirit is our Advocate and assistant who care us safely through the confront and adversities we have to face in this life. The Holy Spirit is in addition to the Giver of life – the existence of God – and the One who directs us in the way of truth. We can by no means stop learning because the Spirit guides us more and more into the familiarity of God's love and truth. Jesus also assured his followers the gift of peace. Peace is more than the lack of conflict or trouble. Peace includes all which makes for our highest good. Trust in God, faith in his guarantee, and obedience to his word guide us to peace and security in God's presence. That is why a Christian must not fear or be anxious by anything. What can divide us from the love of God in Christ Jesus?
Next Sunday is Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord
