Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord

Ephesians 1:7: In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.
  Let us Pray ...
Heavenly Father, Thank you, we praise you and we glorify you for your anguish and cost to forgive our sins by the blood of your Son. We refuse to take lightly the cost of our sin and will live for your glory in appreciation of your grace. In the name of him who sacrificed all for our salvation we pray. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Matthew 26:14—27:66)
Today’s Gospel Jesus' entry into Jerusalem astride a colt was a direct completion of the Messianic prophecy of Zechariah: Rejoice significantly, O daughter of Zion. yell aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem. Lo, your sovereign comes to you; triumphant and victorious is he, and journey on an ass and upon a colt the foal of an ass. The horse was a sign of peace. Jesus enters Jerusalem in humbleness and humility, as the Messianic King who tenders victory and peace to his people. That conquest and peace would be protected in the cross and resurrection which would quickly take place at the time of Passover. Jesus went to Jerusalem meaningfully what awaited him, betrayal, refusal, and crucifixion. The people of Jerusalem, though, were ready to call over him as their Messianic King! Little did they recognize what it would cost this king to usher in his kingdom? Does the King of splendor find a welcome entry in our home and heart?
