The tragedy of the betrayal

James 5:16: Therefor confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
  Let us Pray ...
Heavenly Father, we thank you and praise you. We have sinned and we now confess our own sins. We ask for your forgiveness and for your Spirit to strengthen us in overcoming temptation. We want to live for you and not let our sin, any sin, entangle us and draw us away from you. Through Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Matthew 26:14-25)
What will you give me if I handover him to you? He was eager to take money in exchange for handover the Word of God. They do the similar thing who accept sensual or worldly goods in exchange for handing over and shed out from their souls the redeemer and Word of truth who came to reside with them. Indeed, it would be appropriate to apply Judas’s example to all who show disrespect for the Word of God and betray him, as it be, by entrusting sin for the sake of money or for any selfish reason. Jesus knew earlier what would befall him. As Jesus ate the Passover food with his twelve apostles he put them in trial and suspicion to teach them to examine themselves correctly, lest they be high-minded and reflect themselves stronger than they were. We also must look at ourselves in the light of God's truth and grace and request him to strengthen us in faith, hope, and love that we might not fail him or abandon him when we are tempted. Do you pray with self-assurance in the words Jesus gave us to pray: Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil?
