Whoever loses his life for my sake will save it

1 Peter 3:15: In your hearts, set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.
  Let us Pray ...
Heavenly Father, thank you very much for speaking your grace in Jesus. We are not sure we would have heard any other message. Give us the conviction we need to share our hope in Jesus, but in a way that reflects your grace. Through Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Luke 9:22-25)
The cross of Jesus Christ guides to freedom and success over sin and death. What is the cross which Christ commands us to take up each day as his follower? When we will crosses with his will, then his will must be completed. The way of the cross engages sacrifice, the sacrifice of put down down our life each and every day for Jesus' sake. What makes such give up possible and "lovable" is the love of God decant out for us in the blood of Jesus Christ. Paul the Apostle repeats us that "God's love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit". We can by no means out-give God. He always gives us further than we can anticipate or imagine. Are we ready to lose all for Christ in order to achieve all with Christ? What will we give to God in replace for freedom and eternal life? Are we ready to part with everything that might keep you from following him and his ideal plan for your life? Jesus poses these queries to challenge our suppositions about what is most profitable and worthwhile in life. In every choice of life we are making ourselves a certain kind of being. It is possible that some can increase all the things they set their heart on, only to awaken suddenly and find out that they missed the most important things of all. A true disciple is prepared to give up all that he or she has in exchange for pleasure and life with God. The life which God tender is abundant, eternal life. And the joy which God places in our hearts no grief or loss can reduce.
