Heavenly Father, Strengthen us, that we may stand against our foe and triumph by the power of your Spirit so that we may bring honor and glory to our conquering Savior who will return one day and take us home in victory. In the name of Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Matthew 23:1-12)
Humility is the queen or base of all the other virtues because it facilitates us to see and judge correctly, the way God sees. Humility helps us to be teachable so we can obtain true knowledge, wisdom, and a truthful view of reality. It directs our energy, zeal, and goal to give ourselves to something better than ourselves. Humility frees us to love and serve others selflessly, for their sake, rather than we have. Paul the Apostle gives us the most example and model of humility in the person of Jesus Christ, who emptied oneself, taking the form of a servant, and ...who humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Do we want to be a servant as Jesus provided and loved others? The Lord gives grace to those who unassumingly seek him. Respect for God and his ways predispose us to Godly humility and simplicity of heart. What is true humility and why should we hug it? True humility is not a sentiment to bad about yourself, or having a low view of yourself, or thinking of yourself as lesser to others. True humility frees us from concern with ourselves, whereas a low self-opinion is liable to focus our notice on ourselves. Humility is truth in self-understanding and truth in act. Did you recognize the joy of Christ-like humility and simplicity of heart?
