2 Timothy 1:7: God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-discipline.
  Let us Pray ...
Heavenly Father, you are without compare in your majesty and might. We have no right to come into your presence and yet you have invited us here by your love and your grace. You are our Rock, our Fortress, and our Strength. We depend upon your guidance and your mercy to sustain us through our storms and reclaim us from our stumbles. In Infant Jesus' name. Amen.

Meditation on Today's Gospel: (Mark 10:17-27)
Jesus challenged the youthful man because his heart was jealous. He was frightened to give to others for panic that he would lose what he had gained. He required happiness and security in what he possessed rather than in who he could love and give out himself in undivided loyalty. Those who are kind towards God and towards their neighbor find that they cannot out give God in his liberality towards us. God blesses us with the invaluable treasures of his kingdom - freedom from panic and the griping power of sin, self-centeredness and pride which hunk his love and grace in our lives; liberty from aloneness, separation and rejection which keep his children from living together in love, peace, and harmony; and freedom from despair, desolation, and disappointment which blind our vision of God's power to heal every hurt, bind every injury, and remove every stain which mar the image of God within us. God offers us wealth which money cannot buy. He alone can truly please the deepest longing and desires of our heart. Are you enthusiastic to part with anything that might keep you from seeking true joy with Jesus?
