Loving God who comforts us in all of our troubles

2 Cor 1:3-4: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
Thoughts on Today's Verse... (Wed, November 10, 2010)
Blessed be God - Let God have universal and eternal praise, because he is the Father of our Lord Jesus, who is the gift of his endless love to humanity. He is the God of all comfort - the fountain when all giving relief, and happiness, and all bliss flow to angels and to men. It is his gift that we are comforted to comfort others. God doesn't bless us with his presence and comfort of his Spirit because we are somehow better than everyone else. No, he comforts us to enable, authorize, and encourage others. God has human hands, but only when we use ours to his glory and for others comfort.
  Let us Pray...
Heavenly Father, there were times when we were so broken and we could not go on. We know our strength to continue came from your rich grace and mercy. Please use us this day to offer your comfort and love to others so they may feel your warm embrace and come to yearn more for the day we see you face to face in heaven. Make us an instrument for you Jesus. Through our Lord Infant Jesus, we pray. Amen.
