The stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.

Acts 4:10-12: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead; in his name this man stands before you healed. He is "the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone." There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved.
Thoughts on Today's Verse... (Wed, November 17, 2010)
Be it known to you all - perhaps the herald of God proclaimed this with a loud voice. Whom God has raised from the dead they knew in their own consciences that it was so. Peter being filled with the Holy spirit, would have all to comprehend, that the miracle had been fashioned by the name, or power, of Jesus, the Messiah, whom they had crucified; and this deep-rooted their testimony to his resurrection from the dead, which proved him to be the Savior. These kings must either be saved by that Jesus whom they had crucified, or they must pass away for ever. The name of Jesus is given to men of every age and nation, as that whereby alone faithful are saved from the anger to come. But when greediness, pride, or any dishonest passion, rules within, people shut their eyes, and close their hearts, in hostility against the true, allowing for all as ignorant and uneducated, who desire to know nothing in assessment with Christ crucified. And the followers of Jesus should act so that all who communicate with them may take information that they have been with Jesus. That makes them holy, heavenly, spiritual, and happy, and raises them above this world. Salvation from what is distorted and broken in our world is found in no one else. He is our Savior because he was keen to come to this world, bear our limits, shame, and sin and then triumph over them.
  Let us Pray...
Through Infant Jesus, our Lord, we thank and praise you and glorify you, Heavenly Father. Your love has given the give up for our sin and your power has given us the assurance of our resurrection from the dead. Your Son's readiness to spend a lifetime with us has given us a Great High Priest who intercedes with understanding for our struggles. His example lets us know of your great love. Thank you, O God! Thank you for being so gracious and giving us such a wonderful Savior our Jesus. Amen.
