God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever

Psalm 73:25-26: Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
  Let us Pray...
Heavenly Father, who strengthen us, Keeper of the Covenant and Fulfillment Maker of every prophecy, you are our hope, our strength and our future. We live this day in wide open amazement that the Keeper of the Universe knows us, hears our voice, and cares for us. Thank you for being our past, our present, and our future, the Great we are. Through our Savior Infant Jesus we pray. Amen.

The greater our nearness to God, the less we are affected by the attractions and distractions of earth. I have put all my trust in the Lord my God my Saviour. He dwells upon the glorious name of the Lord God, and affirm it as the basis of my faith. But it is good for me to draw closer to God? Had he done so at first he would not have been engulfed in such affliction; when he did so he flee from his dilemma, and if he continued to do so he would not fall into the same evil again. Often we ask ourselves, what can truly fulfill and sustain us? Maybe the best way to answer that question is by asking another: What can we keep when our bodies are placed silently in their graves at death? And the answer is only our relationship with God and his people lasts beyond the grave. If he is what lasts, then how can we displace him for anything that doesn't? Access into the most holy place is a great privilege, and a cure for a multitude of ills. It is good for all saints, it is good for us in particular; it is always good, and always will be good for us to approach the greatest good, the source of all good, even God himself.
